Dustin Graduation Party At The Lake

We reserved the picnic area this year & threw a big hotdog cookout to celebrate Dustin graduating from high school. We camped all weekend & enjoyed some beautiful HOT Texas weather!

Our 27th Anniversary at Port Aransas

For our 27th Anniversary we got to hang out at Port Aransas for several days & sure was nice! We stayed at the Grand Caribbean & was able to walk back & forth to the beach. We walked the beach, made sandcastles & alligaters & turtles. We waded our toes & looked for shells. We fed the seagulls lots of bread & the guys fished off the jetty. We watched the sunrise & the sunset. We saw the waves crash on the shore & just enjoyed seeing the wonderful world our Lord has made!

Friday was a happy day for Dustin. All the way thru High School he dreamed of finishing #1 in his class. He worked hard trying to reach that goal. The last few months of school the top ones grades got tight. They hadn’t any idea where they were. He bounced from 1st to 5th and kind of gave up hope for that dreamed of spot. Then they told them at the Senior awards that it would be the day of grad before they found out their places. Told all top 6 to just get a speech ready. Sure! You think a boy is gonna do a speech for something he doesn’t think he is gonna get??? Sure enough that day after practice  they found out their places. Wow! Was he happy & all of us too!!

Now, he has a one year paid scholarship to A & M, 2 years to MCC, [which he won't use], a $500 Heart of Tx. scholarship & top 10% Scholarship of $2000 to A & M. This will sure help him out!!

Another Year Older

Eugene celebrated his birthday at San Antonio this year. For his gift this year I took him to Sea World on Thursday.

We saw the Fiesta parade on Friday.

We stayed on the Riverwalk at the Marriott Hotel on the 38th floor, thanks to Priceline!!  

We ate at Caso Rio our favorite Mexican place on the Riverwalk & also Salt-grass & Rita’s on the River. They were all good!

Came home though the  Hill Country & Fredsrickburg. Had to stop at Marble Falls & have a piece of pie at the Bluebonnet Cafe. Yummy!!

Sunday our family went to Buzzard Billy’s for lunch & came to our place afterwards for cake & ice cream & gifts.

Happy Birthday Eugene!! I love you bunches!!!

They Sure Grew Up Fast!!

For Eugene’s birthday gift this year I scanned all the photos I had of hunting & fishing times throughout our married life. Ended up with almost 300 photos that I with LOTS of Suzanne’s help put on a photo digital frame.

I thought some of the photos of my kiddos back quite a few years ago were kind of cute – so thought I’d share!

Saturday Fun!

Brianna had a piano recital Saturday & that was enjoyable. She did great & looked so cute! All the kiddos did a wonderful job!

B M Picnic & 20th Celebration

We went to the BM Picnic & 20th birthday celebration Saturday. It was a might chilly & even rained some on us.

Eugene & I borrowed our granddaughters for the day & wow did they have fun! I only have kiddo photos as I tagged along with them the whole time.

First they got a snowcone. All together I think Lorien had 3 snowcones & Brianna 2. And they had so many cokes I lost count! [Maybe Jesse won't read that! ha!]

Then they toured the playground.

Then they went on a buggy ride pulled by a tractor

They played stomp the balloon.

Brianna & Lorien both had their FIRST pony ride & thought was awesome! Like Lorien told her Momma later…”Momma, we rode a pony & it was a REAL PONY!!!”

We ate BQ, played games & had fun. We watched them give out door prizes & awards. And we enjoyed the slide show they had. Was an enjoyable day & the kiddos especially enjoyed it!!

Happy 6th Birthday Brianna

Brianna had her 6th birthday party this last weekend. Our little sweetheart with her loving ways & huge smile sure had fun! Happy Birthday Brianna!!

Happy 18th Birthday Dustin!!

Hard to believe that Dustin is already 18!!

Just a few days ago my younguns were small & now I’ve got grandkiddos & mine are all grownup! I’ve enjoyed those years that are now behind me. I’ve had fun having kiddos & I love them bunches. I guess now that they are all “grown” I’ll just sit back & relax! [ha!!]

Really no matter how old they get, how grown up they are..they are still your “little kids” & they still hold the keys to your heart. Dustin though taller than me & 18 years old will always be my”baby” no matter how many years pass by.

I love you son! Happy Birthday Dustin & enjoy being 18.
