Camping Weekend and Birthday Celebration

We pulled out our camper Thursday night and camped for 3 nights. Our whole family came out and they brought their tents again. Was a rather toasty Texas weekend but we had fun. Had Shrimp and crawfish boil friday night and us big folks thought it was yummy. Brianna and Lorien feasted on macroni. Then our grandkids kept us busy as they rode their bikes, swam in the little pool, went to the playground and fished one night.

Saturday night was the church cookout and lots of folks came. We had so many burgers left that we had leftovers sunday night after the singing.

The kids enjoyed the bubble machine that Norma Jean had for them to play with. There was horseshoes, washers, volleyball and lots of games going on.

Sunday for lunch we celebrated Phillip and Kimberlys birthdays. Happy Birthday to both of you…I love ya’ll lots!

Our kids and their tents

Uncle Dustin entertains his nieces

Rohan enjoys his bread and the camping life

Lorien really didn’t like Dustins plastic fishing “bug” but Brianna thought it was funny

Wonder how many times that ice chest lid got opened??

This is the life! Those gals love the fishing part of camping. I think it is the highlight of their trip. They are getting so they cast really good and they have a blast!

Running and Chasing the Bubbles

I wonder what these two little sweethearts were discussing?

Happy Birthday Phillip and Kimberly

Wow! It was a fun weekend but I was so tired!! Camping, a church gathering, a singing with a meal afterwards and a birthday party all in one weekend plus the Texas heat makes one feel their age!

SeaWorld With Our Granddaughters

Wow! I can’t believe I’m gonna catch up on my photos today. Posted the camping ones this morning and  I  have a few moments so I’m gonna get the seaworld ones on too!

We really had fun at SeaWorld. Mackie and Norma Jean were going and taking Autumn…so we decided to take Brianna and Lorien and meet them there. We’ve all got season passes so it’s free now to go anytime we wish too.

We sure had fun! The gals had a blast together and we did too! Oh, the memories it brings back of taking  our kiddos when they were little. Brianna and Lorien kept us entertained on the way there and the way back. We heard the words PawPaw and MawMaw so many times that we heard them in our sleep afterwards! (ha!)

Thanks Suzanne for letting us borrow your kiddos for the day. Your Daddy and I sure had fun taking them and spending the day with my sister and brother-in-law and Autumn!

Good Ole Summertime Camping Trip

Summertime just ain’t summertime without a campout. We took our camper as we’re really into roughing it! (ha!) Phillip and Kimberly took their tent and their dog Brewsky even got to come! Jesse, Suzanne, Brianna, Lorien and Rohan went tent camping for their first time. My Daddy and Momma took their camper and Kent and Valerie got to use their fold out couch and come along.

We had lots of fun together. Ended up eating both suppers together and breakfast saturday morning. Brewsky was sweet and woke us up early. He knew you don’t sleep in on camping trips and wanted to get us going!  We fished several times, ate, swam, ate, walked, ate, rode bikes, ate, played washers, and ate!

Lorien loves to fish and loves to catch a fish. She wants to hold it and admire it. Brianna likes to fish with her fake plastic fish on the end. She likes to hold the pole and put it in the water but really doesn’t want those scary things getting on her line!! Oh, the laughs you get and the memories you make when you take little kiddos on a camping trip!

Our 26th Anniversary In Galveston

I am so far behind in editing my photos and posting. Finally got our anniversary trip to Galveston done. Hopefully, next week I’ll get the camping trip & seaworld trip ones done. Yes, Suzanne I know I’m slow!!

We had so much fun on our anniversary trip to Galveston. Is hard to believe its been 26 years now! I saw on Kimberlys blog how they cheap did their 2nd anniversary trip. Ours wasn’t as cheap..but I think saving money just makes a trip more fun! We pricelined our motel and it was so cool. We ended up at the Tremont House in the Strand. We did buy one – get one free coupons on Moody Gardens, Ride the Ducks and the Sea Star Oil Museum.  We then toured the Sea Turtle place for free and rode the free ferry which is a great ride and lasts 45 minutes at least. We really had fun and enjoyed ourselves!
